Best Seats on the Emirates A380
The Emirates A380 is one of the world's most iconic aircraft — and with three distinct deck configurations, choosing the right seat makes a significant difference.
Emirates A380 Configuration Overview
- Upper Deck (Deck 2): First Class (14 suites) + Business Class (76 lie-flat seats)
- Lower Deck (Deck 1): Business Class overspill (on some configs) + Economy Class (426 seats in 3-4-3 layout)
- Total capacity: Typically 516 passengers across three cabins
Best Economy Class Seats
- Row 36 (bulkhead emergency exit): Extra legroom and no seat in front. Trade-off: tray table in armrest, no under-seat storage. Book early — these go fast.
- Rows 37–40 (exit rows): Standard exit row legroom boost. Good for tall passengers.
- Window seats 36A / 36K: Best of both worlds — extra legroom and a window. A single armrest neighbor instead of two.
- Avoid row 83 and last rows: Seats don't recline and are close to galleys (noise). Rows near lavatories at mid-cabin (around rows 57–58) can have odor and traffic.
Best Business Class Seats (Upper Deck)
- Seats 11A, 11K (upper deck rear): Window seats at the very back of Business Class. Maximum privacy, no through-traffic from passengers.
- Seats 11D/G (middle pairs, upper deck): Good for couples. Direct aisle access from both seats.
- Avoid 7D/G (bulkhead): Reduced legroom; tray table in armrest limits storage during takeoff and landing.
First Class Suites (Upper Deck)
All 14 First Class suites are private with closing doors, a vanity mirror, and a separate shower in the forward lavatories. The "Residence" suite (only on some A380s, not standard First) is a separate private cabin for one or two passengers.
- Suite 2A / 2K: Window suites with extra privacy — no neighbor on one side. Best views during landing.
- Suites 1A / 1K: Frontmost suites; slightly less privacy as crew walk past but closest to the shower spa.
