Cabin Classes

• Euro Traveller (Economy, Short-Haul): BA's short-haul economy has 29–31 inches of pitch in a 3-3 layout on the A320 family. Seats are narrower than long-haul by industry standards. Food and drink are for purchase; the free carry-on bag allowance is a personal item only on cheaper fares. Checked baggage costs extra on most short-haul fares.
• World Traveller (Economy, Long-Haul): Long-haul economy seats have 31 inches of pitch on the 777 and 787. The A350 features 17.5-inch wide seats in a 3-3-3 configuration. All seats include a touch-screen IFE system, USB power, and complimentary meals and drinks. Free checked baggage allowance is 23 kg.
• World Traveller Plus (Premium Economy): Wider seats (18.5–19 inches) with 38 inches of pitch and enhanced dining. Located in a dedicated 2-4-2 or 2-3-2 cabin with reduced passenger density. Includes priority boarding and 23 kg checked baggage — same as economy on most routes. A solid upgrade for travelers on 8+ hour flights.
• Club World (Business Class): Fully flat-bed seats (79 inches) with direct aisle access on the latest Club Suite product (A350 and newer 777s). Older Club World seats use a yin-yang facing layout that some passengers dislike; the new Club Suite is significantly better with a sliding privacy door. Includes lounge access and 40 kg baggage.

Executive Club (Avios) Loyalty Program

Executive Club uses a Tier Points system based on route distance and cabin class rather than miles flown. Avios (the currency) are earned per fare class multiplier and redeemable for flights, upgrades, and hotels. Silver members receive 50% bonus Avios and lounge access on long-haul flights. Gold members receive lounge access globally and confirmed upgrades. Avios are transferable to and from partner programs including Iberia Plus and Aer Lingus AerClub at a 1:1 ratio.

BA's in-flight Wi-Fi is provided by Viasat and Inmarsat depending on the aircraft. Long-haul connectivity is generally reliable for messaging and email. Gold Executive Club members receive complimentary Basic Wi-Fi on eligible flights. Short-haul European services typically do not offer Wi-Fi.

Pro Tips

• The new Club Suite on BA's A350 fleet is a different product to the old Club World — always check the aircraft type before booking Business Class. The A350 Club Suite has a private sliding door and direct aisle access; the old 777 Club World uses a yin-yang layout with alternating forward/backward-facing seats.
• British Airways' short-haul economy (Euro Traveller) is often the most expensive in Europe per mile. Budget carriers like easyJet and Ryanair cover most of the same routes for less — use BA short-haul only when the Avios earn, connection, or convenience justifies it.
• Avios have exceptional redemption value on short-haul flights, where the distance-based pricing means a London–Dublin or London–Paris economy ticket can cost as few as 4,500 Avios. Long-haul economy redemptions offer solid value too; Business Class redemptions are best for aspirational travel.
