Pro Tips

  • The PHX Sky Train to Valley Metro Rail is the best value transport to downtown — follow the Sky Train signs from any terminal.
  • Phoenix heat (June–September) means the outdoor areas can reach 115°F — stay in air-conditioned spaces while waiting curbside.
  • Terminal 4 is the most modern and has the best food; if you're on American, you're already there.
  • Summer monsoon season (July–September) can cause sudden severe thunderstorms and short ground stops — book morning departures.
  • Rideshare pickup via the Sky Train lot takes an extra 10 minutes but avoids the chaotic curbside traffic.
  • Long-term parking is available at Economy Lots E and F; the PHX Sky Train connects them to the terminals for free.
  • PreCheck and CLEAR are available at all terminals; worth having given the volume of leisure travelers.
