Pro Tips
- McNamara Terminal's length is no joke — the moving walkways are essential; stand right or walk left.
- Delta dominates DTW; if you're a Delta loyalist, the Sky Club access in both Concourse A and B is very convenient for connections.
- The underground tram in McNamara Terminal connects Concourses A and B quickly — use it over the surface walkway.
- Detroit winters are severe; check runway deicing delays which frequently add 20–40 minutes to departure times December–March.
- North Terminal feels cramped compared to McNamara — allow extra time if going through security there.
- DTW is the closest major airport to Windsor, Ontario — international travelers sometimes use DTW instead of YQG.
- Parking at the economy lots E and F is the most affordable long-term option (~$11/day).
