- The Metro is the only reasonable way to get to/from DCA — traffic on the 14th Street Bridge and GW Parkway can add 45+ minutes by car.
- DCA has strict 1,250-mile perimeter rules for most carriers — nonstops to the West Coast are limited (special congressional waivers apply for a few routes).
- Terminal B/C gate concourse has excellent dining; arrive early enough to explore.
- Parking at DCA is expensive and fills on weekday mornings — Metro is genuinely the best option.
